GOD LOVES YOU - HE REALLY DOES

I've heard Catholics believe....

Many people THINK they know what the Catholic Church teaches, but do they really? Some Yes, some…not so much. Unfortunately, many Catholics are not even fully sure themselves of all the beauty that exists within their One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, so others, who don’t embrace the Faith understand it even less.  Come, let’s discuss!

What is Catholicism?

The root word of “Kathalikos” in the ancient Greek, means Universal. The Catholic Church is the universal church, we are all one. Jesus said to Peter: “You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church. The gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” And with those words, Jesus commenced to build that church. We are almost 2000 years since those words of inception, and the Catholic Church still exists, and hell has not prevailed.

I used to be Catholic...

Once a Catholic, always a Catholic. If you were baptized Catholic, just come back to the Church. It’s a lot easier than you think. Keep reading.

Pray. Now... and Often

Don’t worry about saying the prayers you were taught as a kid. Just get on your knees, right now. Try saying something like this: “Dear God, I want to know you. I need you in my life. Please help me to know you better. Please help me to believe in you.” Keep praying. Whenever you think of it. God does not make hard terms with those who seek him. He wants us to love him. But he won’t force us.

Come to mass.

Jesus Christ is literally present in the Mass. Come back and see him. He misses you. Jesus gives us his full Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity at each mass.

Reconcile with God.

Use the sacrament of Reconciliation or Penance or what most people will call it: ‘confession’. It is all those things, and more. Jesus gave us this sacrament in the Bible. It’s how we tell him we are sorry for our sins and we will try not to do them again. Mortal Sin separates us from God and from our fellows.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation makes that separation vanish!
